School Meals

Good Nutrition and Learning Go Hand in Hand

Breakfast—Breakfast is served at school!  The school breakfast program provides a good start to student’s school day.  Traditional breakfast is served before or at the beginning of the school day, and will offer a minimum of 3 components (fruits, grains, and milk) and meet dietary specifications for calories, sodium, saturated fat and trans fat.  Studies have shown that students who eat breakfast benefit nutritionally and educationally!

Lunch—The school lunch program provides students with healthy, nutritious meals during the school day.  The lunch meal will offer a minimum of 5 components (fruits, vegetables, grains, meats and milk) and must also meet dietary specifications for calories, sodium, saturated fat and trans fat.  At each school, to complement the lunch meal, we offer students a variety of fresh fruits and fresh vegetables to choose from on the salad bar.
