In the Months of November and December, the teachers and staff at Eastbrook decided to do hands on math rotations. K-2 rotated in the morning while 3-5 rotated in the afternoon. After looking through the school’s data, teachers targeted skills that students at Eastbrook seem to struggle most on standardized tests. November focused mainly on measurement, while rotations in December focused on weight, area and perimeter. Students were given hands on activities to make these skills more concrete. Not only did the students learn skills, they had fun doing it! As the school year continues, each month a new skills will be visited.
